To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of "Day Zero" (his bone marrow transplant), Jim Galvanek participated in the 140.6 mile Lake Placid Ironman in July and had a goal of raising $140.6k for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Following completion of the Ironman, Jim continues to raise money on behalf of the National Capital Area chapter of the Society through it's Team in Training endurance program. Next up is the Disney Marathon in January 2009.
